    Andrew Mahony

    Director

    After studying at the University of Sydney and working with the NSW Police as a Crime Scene Investigator and CRS Australia as a Rehabilitation Consultant we opened Rural Fit in 2011. Our team is proud to have won the NSW Business Chamber Award for Excellence in Small Business, industry award ESSA National Practice of the Year and I was very grateful to have been a finalist as the NSW Young Entrepreneur. We love to get up every morning to give people a greater freedom of movement and being.

        Alycia Young

        Head Physiotherapist

        Alycia joined the rural fit team this year, 2014. After graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 Alycia worked in the public hospital setting gaining experience in acute care, orthopaedics and rehab. After a year living abroad Alycia came home to the Tamworth area and joined Simon Tydd in his private physiotherapy practice.

        Alycia has developed a great interest in movement based assessment and treatment with NKT, dry needling, kinesiotaping and hand therapy.

        Alycia enjoys living an active lifestyle, keeping fit by playing netball and touch football.

            Michelle Morgan

            Accredited Exercise Physiologist - Practice Manager

            Michelle joined the Rural Fit team in June 2014. After working in Occupational Rehabilitation for 9 years, Michelle looks forward to utilising her experience in occupational rehabilitation and exercise physiology to live out the mission of Rural Fit.

            Michelle’s experience in Occupational Rehabilitation includes all aspects of Case Management, assisting injured workers returning to employment, pre-vocational assessment services, pain management and exercise prescription.

            After studying Exercise Science & Nutrition at the University of Wollongong, Michelle travelled and worked overseas before settling down in Tamworth. Michelle has also been involved in some capacity with the Northern Inland Academy of Sport for 10years, and is currently a Board Director.

            Michelle is passionate about improving the health and well being of the community, and after growing up in competitive swimming, now enjoys the juggle of a young family and triathlons.

                Chris Jarrett

                Consultant Dietitian and Diabetes Educator

                A former RAAF Avionics Technician, Chris pursued dietetics following an Advanced Certificate in Health Fitness and Sports Training. He has provided dietetic services in Tamworth and the surrounding district for several years through public and private practice. Chris joined the Rural Fit team in May 2013 and provides generalist dietetic services in addition to gastric surgery (weight loss) and diabetes management as areas of interest. Chris lives in Kootingal with his wife and young family and keeps active with karate and junior soccer.

                Qualifications:
                Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics).
                Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education.

                    Mel Hill

                    Administration Officer

                    Mel joined the Rural Fit team in April 2012. Mel spent over 6 years in Queensland
                    living and studying on the Gold Coast and working in Brisbane before moving back to
                    her home town of Tamworth with her husband and 3 day old baby boy.

                    Mel previously worked for a Brisbane based construction company. In her time with
                    the above she gained skills and experience in roles such as reception, client
                    liaison, office management and personal assistant.

                    Mel has a young family and enjoys spending time at the family farm. Mel loves being
                    back in Tamworth and having her parents and sister close by.

                        Melanie Thompson

                        Administration Officer

                        Mel re-joined the work force in early 2014 after having her 2nd baby. Previously Mel has worked for local business such as Quality Hotel Powerhouse and JT Chiropractic Clinic.

                        Mel was born and raised in Tamworth. Lived on the Gold Coast for 5 years. Married a Tamworth Man and has 2 boys aged 3 and 8 months.

                        Mel’s work history consists of many years working in hospitality as a Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, Events/Functions Coordinator and Food and Beverage Attendant.
                        Mel has done a lot of travel. Seen many places and enjoyed many activities.

                        Mel is very family orientated, Both Sisters and their children live close.Mel enjoys playing hockey, traveling and socialising.

                            Tom Hungerford

                            Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Clinical Leadership

                            Tom came to Rural Fit in 2011 during his studies to gain practical experience and complete his clinic based internship hours. Following the completion of his degrees he was lucky enough to gain full time employment as an AEP. From this time he has seen Rural Fit grow into a successful multidisciplinary allied health company. This is due to a great team which wakes up each day striving to improve the health and wellbeing of regional, rural and remote Australia. Its also due to all our great clients and we look forward to helping many more and sharing the Rural Fit services and vision in the future.

                            Tom enjoys the variety of work with Rural Fit and enjoys getting out in the community and helping those who wouldn’t necessarily have access to the services that Rural Fit can offer.

                            Outside of work Tom enjoys playing sport, fishing and travelling.
